hey, my name is Lanny!
Lanny Yan is an outdoor guide, photographer, and avid outdoorsman based in North Vancouver, British Columbia. He works across the Fraser Valley and Sea to Sky Corridor.
Originally from Calgary, Alberta, Lanny is currently studying Outdoor Recreation Management (OREC) at Capilano University, pursuing a career in outdoor guiding and adventure photography within the adventure tourism industry.
He is passionate about mountain culture and the outdoor community, with a focus on developing practical skills in guiding, risk management, leadership, and program development. His goal is to help create safe, engaging, and memorable experiences in wild and natural environments.
Lanny is dedicated to growing as both a professional and adventurer—building expertise, practicing sustainable outdoor ethics, and contributing to Western Canada’s amazing mountain culture.
Though his work began in food and restaurant photography, Lanny's true passion is storytelling, hoping to share his vision within the mountain community with his work and outdoor stewardship.

Values
Tell a Story
A beautiful shot can seem shallow without a story to tell. A narrative infuses depth, meaning, and a lasting impact, creating a compelling and memorable experience for the viewer.
Capture Intimacy
Intimacy is everything in my work; vulnerable moments that reveal a different type of beauty in the seemingly ordinary. Embracing the simple things transforms life into a more beautiful experience.
Create with Passion
Never let the spark die. Passion isn't just a driving force behind what we do—it's the magic that transforms something simple into a meaningful creation; a simple click into a visual masterpiece.
